Happy Hands Am I Not Yours? Ruffian Nails

I'm sorry I've been so absent yet again; I've been battling more health issues and trying to recuperate. I do not have much energy to write; but I really want to share this nail art look because it reminds me of spring! Also very delayed: this look is for day 31 of  Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014 which is inspired by a nail art look done by Wondrously Polished.

Snowflakes in a Pond of Blue. . .Presents

This winter I decided to recreate one of my favorite nail art looks of last year, Snowflakes in a Pond of Blue, with a little twist - hand painted red ribbons and bows to look like wrapped presents! hehe. I did enter this in the #celebratewithpueen contest on instagram; but it was on my to do list before I knew about the contest. I've also been putting off posting this because it didn't quite live up to my expectations; but the Polish Party prompt this month is stamping with a three color gradient -  pond gradient in this case ;) - so I thought that must be my wake up call to stop hoarding and start sharing!

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate 16 Review

What better way to start off 2015 than with a nail art look inspired by Elton John's "The Circle of Life"? As soon as I saw the Born Pretty Store stamping plate 16 this song came instantly to mind; and I knew I had my inspirational song for day 22 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014 (please disregard that it's now 2015 and let me wrap up this goal from last year...heh).

Best of 2014

2014 has been a bit of a rough year for me, taking quite a toll on me medically and mentally. I have not been able to indulge in my hobbies, passions, and blogging the way I had hoped; but I still want to reflect on what I have been able to accomplish this past year. As I did in 2013, I sifted through my archives and found my top twelve nail art looks (with some help from you, my readers, and your wonderful comments/likes/repins/etc.). Without further ado, here are my 2014 picks.

Pretty Serious Turbo Boost Swatches and Review

I'm back again with day 23 of  Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014, inspired by a movie, in this case the rumored Knight Rider :) My return home from vacation in October was made even better by my prize from a Digit-al Dozen giveaway, which was from the lovely and ever so kind Kim of Overall Beauty.

Jamberry Seven Day Wear Challenge

Hello lovelies! I'm officially back from vacation. Yay for my blog! Boo for being away from my boo. And no, I don't actually call him that, but I couldn't resist just this once. My return home means I can officially work on wrapping up my Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014. Today I have a manicure inspired my sailboat shirt and Jamberry nail wraps pattern Lunar Landing; which I'm using for day 26 in the challenge.

The Friday Night Knitting Club Inspired Nails

Today's post was inspired by a book (series) the Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs and is the day 24 prompt of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014. I'm disappointed in how these nails turned out, but I really want to finish the challenge before I leave for vacation on Thursday so I've decided to post this look anyway.

Ghosts, & Tombstones, & Tutorials, Oh My!

Day 29 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014 is inspired by the supernatural and my Cult Nails polishes <- because what better polish brand in my collection to inspire this look! This year I decided to take things in a more classic direction with ghostly nails in a commentary (tombstone) setting. I wanted to create something simple that even a novice with no extra tools could recreate. For those of you who desire more of a challenge, last year I did Sleepy Hollow inspired nails with a tutorial.

I'm finally getting around to posting day 25 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014, inspired by fashion. When perusing looks from New York Fashion Weeks Spring/Summer 2015 I came across a gorgeous striped skirt in Erin Fetherston's Ready-to-Wear collection.

Bansky "There Is Always Hope" Nails

So, I'm really excited about today's post for day 27 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge  2014, artwork. Honestly, I had a hard time choosing what to do for today's prompt because I love recreating works of art. In the end, I landed on one of Bansky's most famous pieces of graffiti featuring a girl reaching for a read balloon with the inscription, "There is always hope."

LVX Graphite Texturized (+Swatches)

Today I have day 21 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014 nails, which are inspired by the color Graphite by LVX. It may appear as if I soley painted my nails with polish for this prompt, but this is NOT a textured polish - details to follow.

Geometric Half Moons using JulieG Cruise Collection

I'm back again with day 18 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014, half moons. I decided to yet again expand upon a previous look - my day 16 nails after seeing these beauties by Chelsea Queen.

JulieG Cruise Collection Gemetric Colorblock Nails

As I continue to work my way through Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014 I have day 16's geometric nails. I wanted to try something a different for me, so I went with simple and quick colorblocking.

Nauti-Roses

After wearing my day 12 nails all day I knew they weren't coming off; therefore, it was time for me to adapt them into my floral day 14 nails in Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014. I love flowers and stripes together, they were even featured together in my very first post. I'd been yearning to do them together again, but just hadn't felt up to the challenge. With the base already on my nails I was half way there...

There's a Kerfuffle over the Herringbone

Now that my picture editor is working (sort of) again I'm backtracking to day 12 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014, stripes. Honestly, I drew a complete blank on this one for days because originally I had wanted to do a floral design underneath stripes as if looking through blinds. However, that's too much of an undertaking to put on and remove when I really want to enjoy such labored over nail art. Finally, I settled on nautical stripes with a twist, because I love everything nautical.

Glitter Daze Prima Donna's Glitter Placement

I'm here with day 16 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014, glitter. For this challenge, I decided I wanted to try something new - glitter placement.

Delicate Feathered Pedicure

I've still got some back tracking to do, but I figured I might as well bring you today's prompt for Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014, some delicate. After racking my brain for over a week on what would be simply nail art for my toe nails that would require as little effort as possible it occurred to me, "Stamping." I was thinking flowers, twirly lines, etc.; and then I saw the prompt delicate and decided to go to my plates with only that in mind. The ending result, feathers!

French Dotticure over a Subtle Pixie Dust Gradient

And I'm back again with day 11 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014, (polka) dots. I decided to layer on top of my beautiful day 10 look which featured a gradient of Zoya Cosmo (silver) & Bar (warm topaz) from the Magical Pixie Dust line.
