What better way to start off 2015 than with a nail art look inspired by Elton John's "The Circle of Life"? As soon as I saw the Born Pretty Store stamping plate 16 this song came instantly to mind; and I knew I had my inspirational song for day 22 of Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2014 (please disregard that it's now 2015 and let me wrap up this goal from last year...heh).
For this nail art look I started out with three Deborah Lippmann polishes - Walking On Sunshine (yellow), Lara's Theme (orange), and On The Beach (blue). To create the gradient between shades I used a (nearly) dry brush and applied the polish at a 90 degree angle; I did rotate between the blue and yellow to create a melding gradient. I then sealed with top coat.
Once my polish was completely dry, I used Cult Nails Nevermore with BPS plate 16. I did use a squishy stamper which contributed to some of my images going slightly askew. Also, apparently I applied my top coat too soon, despite waiting 15 minutes, because there is some streaking of the stamped images upon closer inspection.
The Born Pretty Store was kind enough to send me this stamping plate in exchange for my honest review. Overall, the images came out crisp on the stamper and nail - please reference my thumb for the delicate giraffes. The only part of the image I had difficulty picking up was the triangles below the safari panorama image; however, I think this may be due to me not using a true stamping polish with a slower dry time (which I do not own and therefore could not test to confirm).
I'd love to hear your goals for 2015! Also, if you have any requests for the blog this year, please share. I hope 2015 is off to a wonderful start for you all. #31DC2014

I must say, overall I was really impressed with how crisp and clear the images on this stamping plate were. I can't wait to try the other images - I love giraffes and the variety offered on this plate meant I couldn't resist. If you have any image/stamping requests please let me know in the comments below. The Born Pretty Store was also kind enough to provide me with a coupon promo code for 10% off your order by entering TDPX31 at checkout.
