Hello all! I'm sorry for the long absence - I've been dealing with multiple personal health issues as well as some concerns of those very close to me. I do have several things on the back burner that need to be organized and posted; I'm hoping to be able to get back to blogging, even if it's once a week. Confession: I haven't painted my nails in over a month <-- that's saying something! Anywho, today I have something different for you . . . a beauty post featuring make-up from Mary Kay (product details at end of post).
I didn't do any editing other than watermarking, so all blemishes and sheen are my own. Make-up application is as expected, except I did apply the cream eye color to the center of my lips over my gloss for an added pop of something unexpected. The below photos are without translucent powder.
And now the photos after applying translucent loose powder - - so you can see how much of a difference it makes in shine control and mattifying the finish on the lips.
Products used:
Mary Kay® Bronzing Powder
Mary Kay® Translucent Loose Powder
Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush
Mary Kay® Lash Love® Mascara
Mary Kay® Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black
Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus® Lip Gloss in Mango Tango
Laura Mercier Secret Concealer 2
Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45
Scarf: Madewell
Crewneck top: Banana Republic
Overall, I like the Mary Kay products, which I haven't used since my childhood ballet days. All colors were buildable, so you can choose how concentrated you want the color to be. I was most impressed with lip gloss (long lasting and moisturizing), translucent loose powder (no white film and "sifter" can be opened and closed), and gel eyeliner with expandable brush (smooth application, saturated color, and lasted through face washing). The only products I didn't care for were the make-up brushes (liner excluded), which continued to shed excessively with each use. If you have questions about any specific products, please leave a comment and I'll fill you in!
I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes in the #MKGlam VoxBox.
