Versatile Blogger Award

I am currently on vacation, and therefore taking a 3 1/2 week hiatus  from  The Crumpet's 33 Day Challenge; but no worries, I plan on resuming the challenge when I get home and making up the missed challenges. And now for the main reason of my post, the lovely Brethil of Druid Nails nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. WOOT!

This nomination came as a big surprise to me, especially since it's my first. I have been challenging myself to expand my skill level and do more with my blog, and it feels great to know that someone with such creativity sees that in my posts. So, again, huge thank you to Druid Nails! If you haven't checked out her blog, please do; she's always trying to challenge herself to come up with new and creative ideas.

The Rules:
  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Include a link to their blog.
  3. Sleect 15 new blogs/bloggers that you've recently discovered or follow regularly.
  4. Nominate those bloggers for a Versatile Blogger Award, leave a link to their page and let them know they've been nominated.
  5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
7 things about me (bare with me please, I was shocked my name was known...heh):
  1. I love art in all forms-music, performance, drawing, design, photography, etc.-but I my passion for nail art started when I broke my leg in 8th grade and had to wear a cast over the next 5 months. Yes, 5 months! In turn, I did pedicures weekly, and often times a manicure to match. Over the past year or two I have really turned back to nail art; and I started a blog to document all those manicures I don't want to forget should I choose to recreate them.
  2. I am a lefty. Many of you who have viewed my blog have probably figured this out; however, for me it took an Ah-Ha moment while swatching the other week to realize. I asked myself, "Why do my swatches always seem so different from others-ohhhh-I'm left handed." With this in mind, somehow I have come to be stronger on detail work with my right hand, even though I can't write with it. heh.
  3. If you've ever read/heard/happened upon the quote, "IF YOU RUN, YOU ARE A RUNNER. IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW FAST OR HOW FAR..." ~JOHN BINGHAM, then you can say I'm a runner. ;u) This is not to say I run very far or for very long, but I try.
  4. My thoughts tend to be founded in old English and not so commonly used words; however, when I speak, I "dumb them down," or so I've been told, so others understand. I was once teased for saying, "If you knew the dialog running through my brain, you would understand how much I filter my verbiage...[pause, while I get a funny look]...point, I just thought cranium and said mind."
  5. The word tease makes me cringe. And yes, like all true friends, my like to use it against me. PANTIES!!! (That's for them.)
  6. I don't care for the number 6. As in, I would rather this be labeled 5b. Now on-two 7, a number I am all four (wink, wink)..
  7. I am very sarcastic; however, I do try to rein it in on my blog so as not to offend anyone. Just remember there's a good chance that when "you find it offensive...I find it funny...[and] that's why I'm happier than you." Again, I'm not cold hearted; my icy fingertips strongly insinuate my heart is very warm, possibly even hot. In summation, I hope you are all delighted to know me a little better now.
The blogs I'm nominating for The Versatile Blogger Award (in no particular order):

  1. Mr. Candiipants. Her blog was the first I started following in nail art and a hugely inspirational to me. In fact, my first blog post was inspired by one of her many floral designs found here. Although known well throughout the blogging community, I still think she deserves a nod her way every now and again.
  2. The Nail Polish Project. I love the versatility of her nail art-from stamping to freehand- plus she does excellent swatches. I came upon her during Chalkboard Nails 31 Day Challenge 2013 and have been hooked ever since.
  3. Follow Gashin. Her detailed freehand work still blows me away. One of the first blogs I started following. She's also a member of the infamous Digit-al Dozen
  4. One Nail to Rule Them All. Let's just say she wows me time and time again. Excellent nail art & tons or tutorials to help even the most novice nail artists recreate her favorite designs.
  5. Cubbiful. What can I say? She's a master with a detail brush; and I always love her designs. Just check out this delicate print! Gorgeous.
  6. Chalkboard Nails. She's well known in the nail art community, but did you know she's also branching out into (eye) make-up. Better yet, she is matching her make-up to her nail art. Gorgeous! Swatches, nail art ideas, tutorials, you name it; Chalkboard Nails is one talented lady.
  7. Globe & Nail. I have been following this blog for a while. I love her Skittlelle ideas; she really knows how to put together a classy manicure. Added bonus, she's a ballet dancer!
  8. Chrissy Ai. This is another talented lady. I especially like that she does both make-up and nail art. Also, she often meets up with XOXO Alexis Leigh for joint posts/challenges.
  9. Wondrously Polished. Another amazing blogger, who inspired me to start my own blog. Gorgeous nail art and excellent tutorials too. Also, she's recently joined the Digit-al Dozen. Congratulations!
  10. Chit Chat Nails. Her blog was among the first I started following. She really inspired me to kick my photography up a notch. She's also a whiz at stamping, pairing it beautifully with textured and glittered nails.
  11. Fairly Charming. This blog is newer to me, but I really love what I see.
  12. Mani's By Moore. I first started following her blog to participate in an ABC challenge, which due to travelling and time constraints I did not complete (despite my doing many of the manicures). All the same, being a part of a group challenge made me feel supported and challenged me to push myself to a new level.
  13. Polished Elegance. Easy to say, the blog name says it all; truly elegant and beautiful designs abound on this blog. Plus, she takes gorgeous photos or her designs and swatches.
  14. Nail Polish Society. I discovered this blog during the 31DC2013. She happened to comment on one of my posts, and I had been watching her beautiful designs as well (still do).
  15. Galorious. This blog is fun. She posts nail art, usually with inspirations found around her, as well as random posts about decoration, photography, etc. More importantly, when I was feeling like maybe my blog may never mean something to anyone other than myself, she popped up and really gave me the hope to keep pressing on. So thank you!
Wow, I honestly can't believe I made it through everyone. If you were not mentioned, it truly was no slight. I tried to pick people who had not been nominated before (a lot more fishing than I had anticipated) and give nod to both new to me, and tried and true to me blogs. Normally, I would proof read this, but alas, not today. Sorry, I know once posted I get to let each blogger know about the nomination. Also, if nominated, I will in no way take it as a slight if you choose not to go through with the process yourself (especially all the nominations); although, I would love to learn a little more about each of you!
